Eligibility for Admission – B.Sc. Nursing (Basic)
- A candidate shall be eligible for admission if he/she has passed the 10+2 examination conducted by State of Karnataka or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects, & including English or an examination recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
- Has secured not less than 45% of marks on an aggregate for the above subjects in the qualifying examination referred to in subjects in the clause (1) and not less than 40% of the marks if he/she belongs to scheduled castes / scheduled tribes or other backward castes.
- Has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete this age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
Course of Study
Duration :
The course of study shall extend over a period of 4 academic years from the date of commencement of his/her study of the subjects comprising the nursing curriculum to the date of examination. Terms and vacations shall be as notified by the University from time to time.
The course of study is comprised of 1, 2, 3, 4, year of B.Sc. (Nursing). A candidate shall undergo a course of instructions on the following extending over a period of one/two academic years.

Attendance : | |
A minimum of not less than 80% attendance in theory and practical / clinical separately in each subject in each academic year is essential for appearing in the examination. A candidate pursuing the course shall study in the college for the entire period as a full time student. No candidate is permitted to work in a hospital nursing / home/ laboratory / college studying this course of study of appears for other examination conducted by this university or any other university in India or Abroad during the period of registration. Each academic year shall be taken as a unit for calculating the attendance.

Internal Assessment : | |
Regular periodic assessment shall be conducted throughout the course. The test preceding the university examination will be similar to the pattern of university examination. Average of the marks of the three tests for theory and practical separately shall be sent to the university.

Schedule of Examination : | |
The university shall conduct two examinations annually at an interval of not less than 4 to 6 months as notified the university from time to time. A candidate who satisfies the requirements of attendance, progress and conduct as stipulate by university shall be eligible to appear for the university examinations.

Migration and transfer of students : | |
A student may be allows to migrate / transfer to another recognized nursing college under another or same university provided a similar curriculum is followed by two universities and it can be allowed within 3 months after the declarations of the results of the first year B.Sc. (Nursing) examination. The number of such migration /transfer should not exceed the limit of 5% of the intake in one year.
