In 2006, the name of the school was changed from Akkamahadevi School to Mythri Higher Primary School On being accorded patronage of Sri Gangamma Veerabhadra Shastry smaraka trust in 2006 the name of the school was changed and handed over to Swami Vivekananda Vidya Samsthe (R) Shikaripura a voluntary organisation.

The emblem is a open book which symbolises the Knowledge (Education) open to all and the letter M symbolises Mythri the bondage between the teacher and student and the trust name has been written at the bottom on a leaflet which symbolises the administration and guidance.

The motto of the school is “Never Give In”. The motto embodies the spirit of– to pursue a task to its fullest, giving one’s best at all times.
